Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen
Enjoy the peace and space in the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen. The dune is no less than 3400 ha and is located between Zandvoort and Noordwijk. Since 1853, two-thirds of the drinking water for Amsterdam has been pre-treated in the area.
In the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen you can enjoy various walking routes that lead you along the most beautiful places of the dune. Click here to view these walking routes on offer.
From the age of 18 it is mandatory to buy a day ticket. A day ticket costs €1.50 and can be purchased at the pin payment terminal at the four main entrances or you can order your day ticket online.
There are four main entrances to the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen:
Entrance De Zilk in De Zilk (15 minutes drive from Hotel Sassenheim-Leiden)
Address: Joppeweg 1, De Zilk
Panneland entrance in Vogelenzang (20 minutes by car from Hotel Sassenheim-Leiden)
Address: Vogelenzangseduinweg 2
Entrance Oase in Vogelenzang (20 minutes drive from Hotel Sassenheim-Leiden)
Address: Eerste Leijweg 2
Zandvoortselaan entrance in Zandvoort (30 minutes drive from Hotel Sassenheim-Leiden)
Address: Zandvoortselaan 130
You are welcome every day from sunrise to sunset in the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen!
At the entrance Oranjekom/Oase you will find a visitor center where you can find a map, tips about the dune and more walking routes.
The address of the Oranjekom visitor center is: Eerste Leijweg 6 (entrance Oranjekom/Oase), opposite Vogelenzangseweg 21, 2114BH, Vogelenzang. The Visitor Center is open weekly from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM and on all public holidays.
Public transport
There are various options for reaching the main entrances of the dune by public transport. It is best to board at NS Station Sassenheim. This station is a 10-minute walk from our hotel. You can plan your journey further to one of the main entrances on the NS website.
Rent a bike
Do you like to be in nature all day long? Then rent a regular bicycle or an e-bike at the reception of our hotel. Explore the area and cycle to one of the main entrances of the dune, to continue your route on foot from here.
