Museum Noordwijk

Museum Noordwijk: A cultural and historical experience for the whole family

Museum Noordwijk, located in a beautifully preserved 400-year-old inner dune farmhouse, offers a unique insight into the history and culture of Noordwijk. This historic farmhouse is the only one of its kind still preserved in its original state in the Netherlands and houses an impressive collection of art and historical objects.

The museum boasts the largest museum collection of porcelain from Porseleinfabriek de Kroon (1906-1910), featuring masterpieces by Henri Breetvelt (1864-1923). Additionally, the collection includes works by renowned artists such as Oswald Wenckebach, Charlotte van Pallandt, and Maja van Hall, all of whom lived and worked in Noordwijk. Visitors can also enjoy a significant number of paintings by Ludolph Berkemeier and J.H. Wijsmuller, which provide a glimpse into what Noordwijk looked like around 1900.

Museum Noordwijk presents several period rooms, decorated to reflect the ambiance of early 20th-century Noordwijk. The museum also offers extensive information on the fishing heritage of this coastal town. Annually, the museum organizes engaging temporary exhibitions that add extra value to a visit.
